Home inspectors in Alaska must meet some requirements including regulations for trade practices and consumer protection. Home inspectors in Alaska must be registered with the Department of Community and Economic Development and pass the NHIE, National Home Inspector Exam. The law requires a home inspector to carry insurance and have a bond in the amount of $5,000. The department requires at least 8 hours of continuing education competency activity in each home inspector licensing period.
