Texas home inspector license
Texas Home Inspector Licensing Requirements:
To become a home inspector in Texas, there are two methods to obtain a home inspector license.
To obtain a Texas Real Estate Inspector License, inspectors can take a 128 hour home inspector course approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission and pass the state real estate inspector exam. Then, an inspector must either work for a year with a professional inspector to sign off on home inspection reports or take 320 additional hours of inspector training from a college or university in Texas.
There is also a method to show the board that you have experience in each of eight areas of Texas home inspection, which are electrical, plumbing, roofing, framing, insulation, concrete, drainage and experience may substitute for some of the additional training hour requirements.
